Organizers of the festival Elissa was due to perform in Algeria denied asking her to wear conservative clothes as a condition for performing.
"El Cherouk" newspaper reported from the head of the organizing committee that the Annaba Festival did not put such rules for the singer.
Akila Zalagi, the head of the committee, noted that what Elissa wears is seen as normal in the Algerian community.
Media has recently reported that Algerian officials from the Annaba festival insisted the singer must wear conservative clothing when she hosts the independence 50th anniversary concert.
The Annaba municipality (600 km East of Algiers) put up many security measures including more than 300 policemen and 20 guards to safeguard the route from the airport to the hotel and arcade where the concert will be held.
