Egyptian courts have recently witnessed battles in the name of religion against actors and actresses including stars Adel Emam and Elham Shahin. Shahin has recently filed a law suit against claimer man of God Sheikh Abdallah Badr who previously defamed her on live TV shouting in accusation "How many have mounted you in the name of art?"
In an unexpected escalation the man handed out prints of racy scenes from Elham's films as well as semi nude photoshopped manipulations of the actress in court as evidence to support his claims against her.
"No honor, no chastity and no creativity" shouted Badr while his supporters hailed Allah Akbar.
The defense claims that the words uttered by Abdallah Badr two months ago on Al Hafez religious channel were nothing but mere rhetorical questions in response to Elham's attack on the Islamist fanatic wave on the program "Ana w Al Asal" with the host Nishan.
Many see the slams and photos as unbecoming of any one claiming to be religious.
