Golden Globe winner and Oscar-nominated actress Jessica Chastain is racing at the US box office this week with her latest movies, the horror film "Mama" and "Zero Dark Thirty" as the officer behind capturing Bin Laden.
"Mama," which bears the imprimatur of producer Guillermo del Toro, opened above expectations with $28.1 million, topping director Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty," which took in $17.6 million.
Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's post-governorship comeback, "The Last Stand," could prove to be just that for the action star. "The Last Stand" opened with just $6.3 million, one of the worst debuts for the 65-year-old star. The film came in 10th.
The Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe-led New York crime film "Broken City" didn't fare much better, premiering with $9.1 million.
