Fans of legendary Greek composer, Yanni, can look forward to two nights of musical extravaganza in the month of April. Organized by MPremier and supported by Dubai Calendar, the official calendar of events in Dubai, the concerts will set the stage for the return of the global music icon to Dubai after his huge success on his first visit to Dubai two years back.
Yanni and a full orchestra will perform live during two shows at the Dubai World Trade Centre – on 4 and 5 April – as part of his World Without Borders Tour 2013. He performed to a sellout audience in Dubai in 2011.
Dubai Calendar, an initiative of Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), an agency of Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing, is bringing Yanni for a repeat performance in Dubai under its on-going programme of presenting international stars to a regional audience. The Yanni concert is among several international and world class events that are featured on the Dubai Calendar of events for April.
A key objective of Dubai Calendar is to ensure that the Emirate has an attractive annual program of events that will help the city retain its vibrant ambience and provide an enriching experience for those visiting Dubai at any time of the year. The Dubai Calendar website (www.dubaicalendar.com) is a focal point of reference for residents and visitors to know about Dubai's festivals, exhibitions, cultural and sporting events taking place throughout the year.
During his return tour of Dubai, Yanni and his orchestra will play favorites from throughout his career, as well as selections from his hit studio album, Truth of Touch (2011). For more information on the event, visit www.DubaiCalendar.com.
Yanni's contemporary symphonic music has inspired millions of fans around the world. In concert, his passionate, soaring melodies and lush orchestration create a spirited and uplifting musical experience like no other.
Yanni is described as a world music artist, and is renowned for his performances at iconic venues such as in Burj Park near the world's tallest building Burj Khalifa, the Acropolis in Athens, and became the first western artist to perform at India's Taj Mahal and China's Forbidden City.
To date, Yanni has sold more than 35 million albums globally, and his 2003 autobiography, Yanni In Words, made the New York Times bestseller list. His music is also a staple as a soundtrack for television, especially major sporting events, including the Olympic Games since 1988.
