Attorney General ordered an investigation with Bassem Youssef for insulting the president on his TV show albernameg.
Talaat Abdullah Attorney General will investigate the 12 reports submitted against media spokesman Bassem Youssef, accusing him of insulting Egyptian President Morsi, posted Al-Ahram.
The claims of insulting the President are related to the episode that aired last Friday showing footage of speeches by Mohamed Morsi, wher Bassem states that he wanted to give him the Oscars for best actor and best director and scriptwriter.
Judge Mohammed al-Khalifa demanded that channel cbc hands a copy of this episode to carry on investigations.
The move is expected to raise issues concerning the freedom of speech and expression in Egypt specially since Bassem's show is highly followed and admired by millions of fans.
