Tom Cruise finally opened up about his sudden divorce from Katy Holmes last summer, maybe it is a good time to be in the limelight now that he promotes his new sci-fi "Oblivion!"

Cruise confessed to German TV network ProSieben to being taken aback when the 34-year-old actress decided to end their five-year marriage abruptly last June, posted eonline.

Apparently the Hollywood star was 'oblivious' to troubles on the marriage front, "I did not expect that," admitted Cruise!

Holmes announced their separation on June 29—five days before Cruise's 50th birthday pushing for speedy negotiations that lead to a settlement two weeks later.

Katie was given custody over their daughter Suri 6 and Tom got open visitation rights.

The split wised up 50 year old Tom as it gave him "an incredible amount of time to reflect," he said.

"Life is a challenge, to be 50 and have experiences and think you have everything under control, and then it hits you—that's what life is...Life is tragicomic. You need a certain sense of humor," Cruise explained.

Cruise's "Oblivion" hits theaters on April 19 with costar Morgan Freeman but he's also busy with another sci-fi adventure "All You Need Is Kill" as well as a fifth Mission: Impossible film!

Tom Cruise's film Jack Reacher depicts the shooting of five people right in the beginning of the film but it is not random as it seems. There is no innocence in the Reacher books, no meaningless violence and lots of justification to be made.

"Paramount Pictures" production company delayed the release of the new Tom Cruise film "Jack Reacher" in respect to the latest shooting in a primary school in Connecticut. The new release date hasn't been decided on yet, but Paramount was going to release the film on December 15th.

The company stated in a press released: "we respect the victims of the shooting, and we decided to delay the launch". The film was directed by Christopher McQuarrie and features Tom on a random killing spree. The Connecticut shooter was in his thirties and attacked a primary school in Newtown on December 14th. He shot his mom, a teacher, and 25 other people, 18 of which were children, then he committed suicide.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise will only lose USD 15 million from his divorce from Katie Holmes, which is very small compared to his wealth estimation.

"Nina People" website reported that the actress signed a prenuptial agreement, to receive 3 Million for every year they were married.

Holmes made sure to get custody of her 6 year old daughter Suri.

Reports noted that the actor's Scientology religion might be the reason behind the divorce, but Holmes only cited different opinions in the divorce papers.

The marriage is Katie's first, and she is only 33 years old, while it was Cruise's third and he is 49 years old.

The actor was married to Nicole Kidman for ten years and before her, actress Mimi Rogers.

Tom Cruise received an exclusive honorary award yesterday that was only given to three celebs before him! "The Rock of Ages" star was honored with the Entertainment Icon Award at the Friars Club event at The Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan.

The award was given only to iconic Hollywood stars Cary Grant and Frank Sinatra throughout the history of the organization, posted popsugar.com.

Tom's daughter Suri was there to support her daddy along with numerous famous stars including Alec Baldwin, Cuba Gooding Jr.

However, Mrs. Cruise, actress Katie Holmes, couldn't make it as she is currently in Beijing to promote "Artistry on Ice!"

Tom Cruise is expected to head the cast in a remake of a classic western. According to "Variety" magazine, the "Top Gun" and "Mission Impossible" actor may star in a remake of "The Magnificent Seven", made in 1960 and based on the Japanese film "Seven Samurai".

Aside from Tom Cruise's possible involvement, he hasn't actually signed anything yet, we have no other solid information to get our teeth into regarding this project at the studios at MGM.

Whatever happens, in view of the many productions Tom is already involved with, this remake of "The Magnificent Seven" isn't likely to happen in the short term. The actor is once more very popular in Hollywood, at the moment he is shooting the sci-fi movie "Oblivion", due out in 2013.
